Ascot Underwriting Inc. (AUI) is our first office in the US. Incorporated in the state of Delaware, it offers US brokers direct access to Ascot’s innovative underwriting and provides local products and services for business placed in the domestic market.
We can offer multiple classes of business for the same assured and our direct or reinsurance products are developed specifically for the US market. Our location in a convenient time zone allows for rapid response times.
AUI is not meant to change the way major London placements are structured. Rather, it helps us to raise our profile, strengthen relationships, and continue to build our position in the local market. Through AUI we can continue to support client programmes and offer a surplus lines market solution. In addition to traditional energy business, AUI is an access point for Ascot Renewco, as well as raising awareness for other new Ascot products and services.
AUI follows domestic markets and domestic policy forms and trades as a Lloyd’s syndicate – with therefore surplus lines licences in all 50 states as well as more extensive licences in Kentucky and Illinois.
